The Upsidedown have already managed to amass quite a reputation in their native Portland, thanks much in part to their dynamic live show, which takes full advantage of their six-person strong line-up. It’s engaging and thick with layers of instrumentation, and now, with the help of The Dandy Warhols and their newly-minted Beat The World Records, they’re bringing their appeal to the rest of the country.
With Human Destination, their second full-length (out today!), the group (named “a band to watch” by Magnet) is able to truly push, even surpass, the boundaries normally imposed by time and money. With the opportunity to record at the Dandys’ Odditorium, The Upsidedown found an environment conducive to making a complete, fully engaged record, playful and smart and as energetic as their celebrated live act.
For those of you in or traveling to the Northwest, Beat The World is having a showcase at this year’s Music Fest NW, on Saturday, September 6, with The Upsidedown headlining!

For everyone else, beginning in Minneapolis on September 9 and ending October 5 in Portland, The Upsidedown will be supporting the Dandy Warhols on their North American tour (with added help from Darker My Love, and one-off appearances from A Place To Bury Strangers and fellow Beat-The-Worlders Monstrous).
To celebrate the release of Human Destination, the band is releasing an exclusive remix of their song “Light,” courtesy of The Dandys’ Peter Holmstrom and Jeremy Sherrer.
